Chris Vazquez

Chris is a rising senior at the University of Florida majoring in finance with a minor in leadership.  This summer, he will be pursuing his interest in finance by interning with the global bank UBS in New York, where he will be working on the solutions side of private wealth management.  On the less technical side, he is also taking part in the Challenge 2050 Certificate Program as well as the International Scholars Program in order to enhance his undergraduate experience. His two most significant undergraduate involvements have been in the Heavener School of Business, where he served as a peer leader and participated in the Heavener Leadership Challenge to continue developing his leadership abilities.

Perhaps his most notable extracurricular, however, is Inspire Cuba, a Florida non-profit organization of which he serves as President. He is all about creating positive change and making an impact.  His philosophy is that he is fulfilling his purpose when he adds value to the lives of others, and that is exactly what he gets to do through Inspire Cuba.  This summer, he will have the opportunity to travel with other members of the organization to Cuba to carry out a collaborative project that will greatly improve the sustainability practices and production output of private Cuban farmers. Chris has always been passionate about his Cuban heritage, and he feels increasingly called to play a role in improving the quality of life for people on the island.
