Dan Bailey Grew up on a dairy and crop farm in upstate NY and went on to pursue his degree in Agriculture. He graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Agricultural Business and Agronomy and has now worked over 45 years in the agricultural industry in numerous management positions from sales, marketing, operations, procurement and division management. He spent over 22 years with Agway Inc., a large agricultural cooperative in the northeast USA. There he started his career in the research division and worked up to managing the Feed Division, a $350 million business with over 1000 employees. The past 23 years Dan has been with HM Clause where his focus is primarily on Sales and Product Development management for the USA and Canada markets. He has actively participated in several industry organizations including the American Seed Trade Association, NYS Agriculture Leadership Institute, American Feed Manufactures Association, Agriculture Chemical Association, NYS Agricultural Society and several advisory and boards of directors.
Most recently, he served as an Executive in residents for the Challenge 2050 Project where he has not only communicated the opportunities in Agriculture/Veg Seed business to students but also served as a mentor to students interested in careers within the Agriculture industry.The primary focus during my career has been to motivate and bring out the best in others, maintain a high degree of customer centricity always placing the customer at center, willingness to collaborate and work cross-functionally with others, be a kind and upbeat positive personality, and for the quintessential Seedsmanship professionalism.
