Nick Martinez

Nick Martinez is a fourth-year student earning his Bachelors in Political Science, while minoring in Leadership and serving as a Student Scholar for the Challenge 2050 Project. His role in the Project is to encourage students to strive to be more and do more for not only themselves and the university, but for the world. While doing this he is constantly inspired by the people around him to keep pushing to find the answers to life’s toughest questions. His undergraduate research is aimed at fostering a way to simplify and quantify how people can have successful, healthy relationships. As one of his favorite quotes state, “Be ashamed to die until you have one a victory for humanity,” he believes that simple and authentic human interaction is a way to make humanity victorious in its endeavors. If he’s not busy finishing up his bachelors, you can find him: seeking admission to graduate school to further his understanding of leadership, dreaming about being an astronaut, reading in a hammock, or trying to cook an elaborate meal. He is inspired by the other leaders in the Challenge 2050 Project, and always strives to, “make caring cool again,” by living through the words of Dr. Andenoro, “If we can cultivate empathy, we can stamp out apathy.”
